Our fifth-grade team is incredibly talented and can provide our students a safe and loving environment to help present students with a rigorous curriculum to develop the skills necessary to be confident, productive, curious, and respectful learners in a global society. Throughout fifth-grade students will engage with classic literary texts, develop writing skills that demonstrate a command of the conventions of the English language, and manipulate fractions and decimals’ properties. In social studies, students will traverse through pre-Columbian societies to the onset of the English Civil War and then learn the 50 states and capitals culminating in a large unit about the Civil War. In science, students will develop their scientific knowledge first by learning about famous scientists and then engaging in many topics that range from the Animal Kingdom to Newton’s Laws of Motion.
