Principal Newsletter October

Middle School Families,

Cliché Alert – As the fall leaves start to turn colors, and we change into a new season; we will be doing the same here at Monument Academy.  The students have now put enough time into the school year, that it is time to start showcasing what they have learned so far.

Starting off with Parent Teacher Conferences.  Please take advantage of this time to meet with your student’s teacher to hear about their successes in the classroom, some areas where they can continue to grow, and how you can partner with your student’s teacher.  At the conferences you will be able to get your student’s progress reports, NWEA data, and any other information that you might need.  We look forward to this time to connect and keep working towards a successful school year.

We are now entering performance season.  It is always fun to come to the first performances of the school year and see where our band, choir, and orchestra students are starting off and then attending the end of the year performance to see how far they have come.  I highly encourage you to come check out our talented students.  Then we will continue with our drama performance at the start of November.

Make sure you don’t miss out on all the events that will be occurring as well.  Air City will be happening on October 6th.  If you haven’t signed up for this event, there is still time to do it.  If you need assistance for your student to attend, make sure to reach out to PTO for support.  This year we will have Dyon Douglas, a parent of a MA student and a Thunderbird pilot, speak on character and lessons learned along the way.  Also, be on the lookout for information on the Fall Festival which will be held on October 21st at the East Campus.  There will be many games to play and plenty of sugar being passed around.  At the end of the month, our middle school student council will be hosting their first event, the Halloween Bash.  This event is always a good time, and it is a great way to get a feel for what the trend for costumes will be.

As always, our goal is to provide your child with a high-quality education and provide opportunities to develop character.  The school loves to partner with you, the parent, in this endeavor.  We look forward to seeing you during this busy month of October while celebrating your student’s hard work!
